As well as being able to provide advice for primary school teachers, our Showroom contains thousands of primary school teacher's resources, reading schemes, story bags and other material not easily found elsewhere in one location.

The showroom gives you the opportunity to compare and contrast available items of a similar nature without the need to pore over catalogues, entertain visits from reps, trawl the internet or engage in other time consuming research into the best products for your school.

Big Books

Heath Books boasts the largest Big Book collection in the country. Our hugely popular Big Book List has over 1200 titles which can all also be viewed in our Showroom.

Latest news: We have just taken delivery of a brand new range of 24 Big Books produced by the Newbridge company in the USA who produced so many of the wonderful photographic titles which were available in the UK when the literacy hour first started. We have exclusive rights to this series all containing teachers notes and will also be looking to bring back the best of their backlist next year.

In the past, teachers have found Heath's Big Book List invaluable for choosing big books for their use as they can be such an individual choice. Our list is unique and comprehensive, incorporating brief descriptions of contents and suggested age ranges. Contact us to obtain a copy of this year's edition.

Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE) Core Booklist

As a starting point for any literacy collection for schools we feel that the current titles in the CLPE (Centre for Literacy in Primary Education) core booklist are the best. This is a wide-ranging list of recommended books for ages 3 to 11, suitable for the development of children's reading skills and has become a highly regarded collection.

We have produced, in co-operation with the CLPE, a comprehensive A to Z listing of all titles by their appropriate collection and key stage. Copies of Heath's CLPE Book List 2010/11 are available on request. These can be used as an order form. We can also provide copies of the full list with complete descriptions and suggestions of associated titles – price £17.50.

We also supply collections from other reading lists produced by organisations such as QCA or any recommended reading list where the books are currently in print. Beware the titles on many lists are not always in print!

Reading Boxes

Alternatively, we are delighted to offer a tailored service — Willow Reading Boxes. These selections comprise a range of titles chosen for individual year groups at Key Stages 1 and 2. All abilities are catered for within the selection. These boxes can be altered to suit your particular requirements, such as inclusion or exclusion of authors, gender specific titles, non-fiction subjects, or simply books selected to a certain value or age range.
