What is the book about? A collection of assemblies for every week of the school year, grouped into themes to reflect the new Department for Education guidance to schools for delivering Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning (SEAL). Why are you publishing it? The book includes articles collected from a popular, long-running series in “Child Education” magazine alongside brand new assembly topics to help teachers deliver the SEAL curriculum (see above). Why is it good, groundbreaking, and essential? Each assembly is broken down into stages with the emphasis on giving impact to whole-school teacher assemblies. All the plans can be used in multi-faith schools and cover a wide range of topics relevant to citizenship issues and living and working together as a community. Who is the author? Jenny Mosley was a key advisor in the preparation of the Government’s guidance to teachers for delivering Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning and is credited as such in the materials sent to schools nationwide.
