Learning the skills necessary to thrive in an academic world
Each LEAP chapter is built around a Warm-Up and Final Assignment that help students progress towards greater autonomy. Challenging texts, listenings, videos, and tasks engage students to reflect using critical thinking strategies. The series focuses on general language skills while emphasizing vocabulary development.
The series includes:
• interesting and thought-provoking themes and texts, connected to various disciplines, that prepare students for study in English in Canada or internationally
• tasks throughout the books which elicit critical thinking from students to help them develop as independent learners
• key words and vocabulary from the Academic Word List (and Longman 3000 at Level 1), which are highlighted in two (or three) Vocabulary Build sections in every chapter, giving students systematic opportunities to expand their vocabulary
• My eLab that gives students extra practice and self-testing opportunities
LEAP gives students the academic skills and strategies to thrive in English in the academic world!
