Coram Voices Writing Competition – Celebrating the Voices of Children in Care

The Coram Voices Writing Competition is a powerful national initiative that gives children in care and young care leavers the opportunity to express themselves creatively. Open to children and young people up to the age of 25 who have experience of the care system, this annual competition celebrates their voices through poetry, short stories, and personal reflections.

Organised by the charity Coram Voice, the competition welcomes entries in a range of formats and offers a welcoming platform for young people to share their experiences, thoughts, and dreams. Each year, the competition is centred around an inspiring theme—encouraging participants to write from the heart and show the world their unique perspectives.

The 2025 competition was open for entries until Monday 30 September 2024, with prizes awarded across different age categories. Teachers, carers, and support workers are encouraged to get involved by sharing the opportunity and helping young people to enter.
