ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. ISBNs were 10 digits in length up to the end of December 2006, but since 1 January 2007 they now always consist of 13 digits.
An ISBN is essentially a unique product identifier used by publishers, booksellers, libraries, internet retailers and other supply chain participants for ordering, listing, sales records, and stock control purposes. The ISBN identifies the publisher and country of origin as well as the specific title, edition, and format. Each book has a unique ISBN, and this is how we make sure you get the correct book so please do reference this when making enquiries. Be aware a hardback and a paperback have different numbers. If you don’t have the ISBN number, we can trace it or convert 10 digits to the 13.

Choosing books online is difficult if you don’t know what you are looking for. Our website aims to display titles that you would expect someone in a school or in an educational setting to need. Larger booksellers list every book on the market, including many duplicates. However, we feel we can offer you a relevant but complete selection. With unavailable and old books removed, this should be the most concise site for teachers and librarians to browse.

Don’t forget - if what you want is not there – ask – if it is in print, we should be able to supply it – or help you find an alternate if it isn’t in print anymore.


• UK and EU Schools can pay on account. This is our preferred method. Please let us know your purchase order number(s).
• For International Schools (outside Europe) pre-payment is required on all orders.
• Credit/Debit Card – Visa and Master Card. Fees apply for International credit card payments.


Delivery to mainland UK schools is free of charge. For non-mainland UK schools, delivery is charged at cost and added to your invoice. If you’d like a quote beforehand, please contact us.
For International account customers, delivery to a UK shipper or consolidator is free for orders over £100. Otherwise, delivery is charged at £5.20 per parcel. If you need your order shipped direct, this is charged at cost and added to your invoice. We reserve the right to increase this at any time in line with our current courier costs.
If you are a teacher placing a school order but want delivery to a home address, please note we do charge for delivery to private addresses as there is a surcharge we pay the courier. This will normally be £5.20. Again, we reserve the right to increase this at any time in line with current courier costs.

If you need your books urgently just let us know and we will check stocks with the publisher before we process your order. Some publishers can usually deliver within 2-3 days. If the books are unavailable via the publisher, we can also supply urgent orders, provided stock is available at our UK wholesalers warehouse, however charges may be applied for this service. We may also not be able to give as much discount. Please contact us to find out more.

In most cases, it is not usually possible to change a delivery address after dispatch.

We deliver personally to many local schools in London and the South East of England.
Books delivered within the UK are shipped via our delivery partner, DHL Parcel UK.
Books delivered outside the UK will be sent via either UPS or DHL Express, both services fully tracked.

As a book distributor we order in from multiple publishers for you, consolidating your books before dispatch. We do keep many key educational titles in stock so please contact us if you need something urgently.
Our standard delivery time to UK Schools is 5-7 working days, stock permitting, from receipt of your order. If your order is urgent, please let us know and we will try to be quicker!
Standard dispatch time to European countries is usually 7-10 days, and just a few days for delivery via courier following order dispatch date.
To countries outside Europe, delivery can be approximately 7-10 days following order dispatch date.
If you have any specific delivery requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.


Return of unwanted goods must be agreed in advance as not all books can be returned to their respective publishers. Requests to return any unwanted books must be made in writing up to 30 days from delivery date.
Books that are printed to order (on demand) and books imported from the USA will not be accepted for return. These titles will be firm sale.
If your books are damaged or faulty we will of course replace these for you. Usually there is no time limit to replacing faulty titles as it may not become apparent pages are missing until read, or pages may fall out when bindings are short of glue.

Your invoice or delivery note may state an item or two is reprinting. This means that the publisher has run out of stock and are awaiting fresh stock – a reprint. We hope this wouldn’t be any longer than a couple of weeks but we will endeavour to keep you updated or suggest a replacement if not.

We do also despatch orders that are not complete if we are awaiting titles from the US or you are keen to have some books earlier, for example. These may show as available, but it means they will follow as soon as they arrive.

Books that are out of print are no longer available to buy because new copies are no longer being printed by the publisher. Books usually go out of print because their popularity and sales have decreased; it’s often a financial decision by the publisher.
We are aware that the reprint costs have increased considerably in recent years and sadly titles do often end up going out of print from a status of out of stock or reprint being considered.
Educational textbooks where the syllabus is still taught are often replaced by a newer edition. If this is the case, we will let you know.

Available means we can source this from the publisher for you. Although we will keep a range of key educational titles in stock to be dispatched immediately, we are limited for space in our warehouse, so we can’t hold huge amounts of stock. However, we are a distributor for all publishers, so schools tell us what they want, and we will get it for you. We can send you books from multiple publishers in one delivery and one invoice; therefore, orders can take a few days to arrive at our warehouse.

The Environment

It is on our radar, and we are making efforts to reduce our waste and carbon footprint along the supply chain. Our couriers DHL and UPS both have strong environment and sustainability policies.
Most of our packaging is reused from our own suppliers. However, if we have to use our own packaging, it is 100% biodegradable, which we hope will also be reused by the customer.
The plastic jackets we fit to books are made from PVC. This durable and long-lasting material can be recycled up to 7 times with a life expectancy of 30 to 100 years.
