The Issues series, from Independence Educational, is a series that offers great resources across a wide reaching series of topics – all relevant to students today.

The series recently added six new titles to its range one of which – Volume 458: Religion – is all about religion.

The editor Danielle, very kindly shared a little insight into putting this particular title together as well as some inside spreads which will show you the level of information included in books from the Issues series.

When researching and putting it together, my main aim was to show young people that, at its core, religion is about kindness, compassion, and respecting others.

I also wanted to highlight the many commonalities between faiths –

• shared values

• similar rituals

• the ways that belief can bring people together

As someone who is not religious myself, I approached the subject with curiosity and a strong focus on the positive role that religion and belief can play in people’s lives.
