Exam Board: Edexcel Level: A level Subject: Physics First teaching: September 2015 First exams: June 2017 Easy online access to this Student Book’s content comes via the included ActiveBook, which students can personalise with notes, highlights and links to wider reading – ideal for coursework and revision. Student Book 1 supports a standalone AS course and provides the first year of the two-year A level course, with Student Books 1 and 2 together covering the full A level. A cumulative approach runs throughout, building constantly on prior teaching, and chapter openers highlight prior learning requirements while linking to future topics; the maths skills required for each chapter are flagged at the start so students can check understanding and address gaps. Bigger spreads bring in real-life material relevant to the course, asking students to apply knowledge in new contexts, while accompanying questions get them analysing how scientists write, thinking critically and considering issues. Preparing for your exams sections highlight the key differences between AS and full A level exam preparation, and practice question spreads offer regular opportunities to check understanding using new-style exam questions from day one.
