The Branford Boase Award
The Branford Boase Award is a prestigious annual literary prize in the United Kingdom, established in 2000 to honour the memories of author Henrietta Branford and her editor, Wendy Boase. This unique award recognizes both a debut children’s author and their editor, highlighting the collaborative effort involved in producing outstanding works in both Children’s Fiction and YA Fiction categories.
First awarded in 2000 the Branford Boase has been awarded to numerous authors who have gone on to publish various widely-acclaimed novels.
The shortlist for the Award will be announced on Thursday 23 April 2026, with the winner being announced on Wednesday, 8 July 2026 at an award ceremony at CLPE in London.
