The only national award voted for solely by children from start to finish, The FCBG Children’s Book Award always features incredible books for readers from Early Years to Young Adult and this year is no different. Every year around 700 new books are read and reviewed by FCBG Testing Groups in schools across the country, culminating in over 100,000 total votes being cast as the favourites are chosen. Find all titles voted 2024 Top Picks below, organised into Books for Younger Children, Books for Younger Readers and Books for Older Readers. At the top of this page, you’ll also find the shortlisted Top Ten drawn from each of the three categories. Voting for the Top Ten is open to all children around the country and continues until category winners and an overall winner for 2024 are decided.
