Last Thursday we were extremely proud to join local volunteers alongside representatives from Surrey County Council in celebrating the many and varied sustainability achievements of schools in Mole Valley and present each school with a voucher to buy books.

The Celebrating Our Schools’ Environmental Achievements exhibition is on display at Dorking Library until November 21st.

Organised and curated by Circular Dorking, a local volunteer run CIC, and supported by the library team, this exhibition showcases the education and actions surrounding sustainability which schools regularly carry out – many of which may otherwise go unnoticed.  From gardening clubs and composting waste to litter picking and recycling batteries we we discovered a magnificent variety of activities and initiatives, but it was reusable glue sticks that won the biggest gasp of the evening!

Heath Educational Books were very pleased to be involved and alongside Circular Dorking have gifted each school a voucher to spend on books of their choosing.   We also donated a selection of ex display picture books to the schools who attended the event and hope they are read and enjoyed by students over and over.

We know what a big part of every community schools are and, as a family run company, we want to support those communities as much as we can.  Well done to all the schools and students involved in this event and to every school – we know you’re all taking loads of sustainability steps every day!

Our next free event for schools in collaboration with Circular Dorking is called ‘Let’s Talk Books’.

We’re hosting it at Pippbrook House in Dorking on February 11th 2026 and all nurseries, primary, prep, special and secondary schools will be welcome to book a ticket!
