FAQ

Have a question about an order, delivery or payment? Hopefully we can help.

When will my books arrive?

As a book distributor we dispatch many orders from stock, as well as receive regular daily publisher stock, meaning we can pass on fantastic discounts to customers.

Our standard delivery time to UK Schools is 3-5 working days, stock permitting, from receipt of your order.

Standard delivery time to European countries is usually 7 days or less following order dispatch date.

To countries outside of Europe, delivery time will be approximately 7-10 days following order dispatch date.

If you have any specific delivery requirements then please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them.

How will my books arrive?

We deliver personally to many local schools in the South East of England.

Books delivered within the UK are shipped via our delivery partner, UPS.

Books delivered outside of the UK will be sent via either UPS or Parcelforce, both services fully tracked.

What if I need to change my shipping address?

Before placing an order you can change your billing or shipping address in the My Account section.

If you need to alter a delivery address after placing your order please get in touch with us directly or give us a call on 0208 644 7788.

I need my books in a hurry. Can you help?

If you need your books urgently just let us know and we can usually deliver to you within 2-3 days, publishers’ hotlines permitting. If the books are unavailable via the publisher’s hotline we can also supply urgent orders provided stock is available at our UK wholesalers, however charges may be applied for this service. Please get in touch to find out more.

Do UK schools pay shipping?

No. UK schools always receive free shipping. 😊

Payment Options
  • Credit/Debit Card – Visa and Master Card
  • UK and EU Schools can pay on account.
Please let us know your purchase order number(s).
  • For all private customers or International Schools (outside of Europe) pre-payment is required on all orders.
What if I need to return my order?

We want to make returns as easy as possible for our customers. However, we do need to authorise all returns first, as not all books can be returned to their respective publishers. Requests to return any unwanted books must be made in writing up to 30 days from delivery date. If you would like to make a return, please send the following information to orders@heathbooks.co.uk for authorisation with the subject line: Return request.

Reason for return:

Returns will only be accepted if the wrong book or product has been supplied – with a different title, author or ISBN from the original quoted, or if a book has been damaged in transit. If books are faulty, we will replace them at no cost.

We will arrange collection of the return using our partner courier, for which we will provide a returns label. Please be aware, a minimum charge of £6.00 per box will apply to cover the return to the publisher.
If you wish to use your own courier at your own expense, we do ask that you use a trackable delivery service.

Returns must be received in new, resaleable condition, so please pack the books to be returned securely. The value from the original invoice will be credited to your school’s account to be used against future purchases.

If we supplied fitted plastic jackets to your order, these will not be credited. If we have serviced the books in any other way, e.g. Dewey or spine labels, then these books would not be eligible to return.
We regret we are unable to accept returns of books published by CGP Books, books that have been printed to order, or books we have imported from overseas for you.

Please be aware that many books returned to publishers are pulped, so if you think you may be able to find use for the books in a few months’ time, do ask if we can offer extended credit. We would hate for the books to be pulped unnecessarily.
