Picture and Comic Books for All!

Tuesday 11th June 2019
9.30 am to 3.00 pm

Bev Humphrey at Heath Educational Books

Course Outline:

Looking for a way to discuss gender identity with your pupils?

There are so many fantastic, beautifully illustrated books published each year that are suitable for use with students of every age across a wide range of subjects.

There are numerous resources available, beyond your classic picture books, that will fit curriculum aims. Comic books and graphic novels have a place in the classroom and can be both engaging and informative.

With titles published each year on a range of hard hitting topics, they can make discussions on such topics easier for easily embarrassed teens.

The course will be hosted at Heath Educational Books’ extensive 60,000 title showroom, giving you the opportunity to look through, consider and compare the titles recommended on the paper back and digital book list included in the course.

Inspire yourself as you hear how picture and comic books, and complementary online resources, can enhance a range of topic areas as well as encourage reading for pleasure; then why not surprise your students when you bring something different to the classroom.
