Lingua Ludica; Learn English by Playing (Board Game)
• For 2 to 16 players / Ages 9 and above
• Playing time: 30 to 45 minutes
Lingua Ludica is the result of two years of tireless work by the linguist Nicolas Ghalayini. He developed an interest in learning through play during his many years of language teaching all around the world. His aim in devising this educational game was to provide an effective and enjoyable pedagogical tool for learners of foreign language.
Lingua Ludica is suitable for anyone over the age of 9 who would like to improve their language skills and have fun at the same time.
The game is easy to play and facilitates effective language learning. It is divided into three levels. The first level is suitable for learners who have completed at least 30 hours of classes at a language institute or a one-year course at school. The second level is suitable for intermediate students and the third level is for the more advanced.
Lingua Ludica is an exciting game, which will arouse the interest and curiosity of both young and old, whether used as part of a course or played at home with family or friends.
Learning by playing is a very effective way of acquiring a language. In fact, playing can help learners relax, making them more receptive to new ideas and enabling them to improve their knowledge of the language more easily.
Although the game is not meant to take the place of a teacher, it may be the perfect complement to traditional classroom teaching. No matter what the context – at school, with the family or among friends – Lingua Ludica encourages and aids the learning process.
The game consists of six categories (Culture, Definitions, Idiomatic expressions, Role-play, Grammar and Vocabulary) with a total of 540 cards, helping you to improve not only linguistic and cultural knowledge but also communicative skills.
